When Choosing the Most Effective Dust Collection Filter, it Pays to Consult an Expert
DustCollectorExperts.com has recently gained the expertise of veteran industrial air quality control equipment professional, Dick Wynn, owner of Wynn Environmental. Mr. Wynn has been in the filtration industry since 1973, when he became Aercolgy’s first and only sales representative. Installing equipment and providing filters for Aercology, Torit, Air Flow Systems, AQE, Murphy-Rodgers and others has gained Dick unmatched knowledge on the subject of dust collector filters, as well as all other facets of dust collector technology.
Are you looking for dust collector filters and having a hard time finding someone with answers and indepth knowledge? What really impresses us about Dick Wynn, besides his experience is his integrity and motivation to provide accurate and effective dust collection solutions. If you’ve spent any time dealing with a dust collector filter problem, you know there are a lot more people in the dust collector filter industry who are focused on sales, yet have almost no knowledge about their own filters.
If you are looking for collector replacement filters, Dick Wynn provides dust collector filters for just about any unit or application. Feel free to send us inquiries about HEPA filters, cartridge media filtration, Vee-Bags, pre-filters, final filters even wet collection systems. Mr. Wynn can provide you his expertise on everything from giant baghouse dust collectors to little downdraft tables.
Whether it is custom engineered or stock equipment, all dust collectors use the same OEM or off-the-shelf filters. Filters are mass produced. There is no such thing as a custom filter made only for one custom engineered dust collection system. This is because media filters are to some extent or another, disposable. They are used, sometimes cleaned and re-used, but eventually fulfill their limited lifetime and retire. Even baghouses with their giant, tall filters will eventually wear out, requiring you to replace and often upgrade them with the latest media available.

Suresh,
The short answer to your question is this: differential pressure refers to the difference between the upstream pressure and downstream pressure of the filtration media. It is affected by the rate at which the filter is removing particles from the airstream. Most all media filtration systems will have a pressure gauge that indicates how much the filters are loading. The measurements you see will ultimately be reflected by the air velocity vs. the amount of filtration media contained within the system, also known as filter pressure drop.
